This volume, in the modern Aramaic dialect of Mosul, where it was published at the Dominican Press, provides an overview of biblical history in the form of questions and answers. Its beginning chapters, for example, are on creation, the Flood, natural law, Abraham, the Exodus, the written Law, etc. The New Testament narratives covered include questions and answers on St. John, the calling of the disciples, Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection, the coming of the Holy Spirit and the very earliest days of the Church. A version of the book in Arabic was issued the same year from the Dominican Press and is also available as a reprint from Gorgias. This handy volume will especially be useful for students of Neo-Aramaic interested in Christian literature and the Church in the Middle East.
