This calendrical guide to the church year for Syriac Catholics, translated from Syriac into Arabic, is prefaced by the remarks of then Patriarch Ignatius George V Chelhot (1818-1891, patr. from 1874 to his death). The book, an example of some complex Arabic printing from the Dominican Press, will mainly be of interest to scholars of heortology (the study of religious festivals), liturgists, and historians of eastern Christianity.
