This work consists of three different encomia of the Archangel Michael, each dealing with a different miracle: how Theodoros and Theopisthe, impoverished after a lifetime of charity, were nevertheless able to have a banquet in honor of Saint Michael; how Ketson, the pagan merchant, was converted; and the temptation of the widow Euphemia.
Wallis Budge, a renowned scholar of Eastern languages, has translated and edited the Coptic texts and added extracts from the ancient Arabic and Ethiopic versions.
